Etsy Find Fridays: Lookin’ pretty in Tiffany Blue

There’s something about that iconic blue box from Tiffany that gets a lady’s heart all aflutter. Do I think it’s completely ludicrous to pay hundreds of dollars for a tiny silver necklace with a bow? Yes. Yes, I do. But will I gladly pay it simply for the exquisite experience of owning something from Tiffany? Right again.

Well, okay — I actually bought the aforementioned necklace for my sister as a college graduation gift. What I bought for me was this ring from the store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and yes I just totally name-dropped Rodeo Drive. I feel like being fancy today. I wear that ring on my middle finger every single day and, gradually, it’s become my “signature piece.” I have no idea if my friends still wear theirs daily, but it’s an item of jewelry that’s just an integral part of my everyday life.

Not one to splurge on unnecessary purchases unless, you know, I have to have them, I haven’t found a Tiffany blue box in my hot little hands for some time now. That’s not to say I can’t still see that pretty blue everywhere, though . . . and I do, actually. Especially on Etsy, where creative artisans weave the hue into everything from purses to flowers to wedding invitations.

If you’re feelin’ classy and want a little Tiffany in your life — without the enormous price tag — see a few of my favorite items this week. (Hover over each photo for a caption, then click to view the seller’s item on Etsy.)

Etsy find Fridays: Tie it with a bow

There’s something about a well-placed bow that sets my heart a’ flutterin’! They’re pretty, feminine, funky and fun — a throwback in some ways, sure, but also thoroughly modern. And now that my hair is a wee bit shorter? I’m thinking I need a few. For my tresses.

But they’re everywhere, these bows — and you can put them just about everywhere, too. As my recent Etsy finds will demonstrate . . .

Etsy Find Fridays: Briolettes all around

I love that in my frequent travels of the Internet, it never fails that I’ll come across something exciting and different and awesome and realize, Hey. This totally fulfills a need in my life that I didn’t even know I needed filled. Today, friends, I’m talking about the briolette — a teardrop-shaped stone (or gem, or anything) that I’ve always admired but never knew had a name. That’s silly of me, considering everything has a name! I just have to find out what it is.

But yes — the briolette. Gorgeous, sparkly and lovely dangling from a chain, wire or strand of silver (or gold, whatever your fancy). Today’s edition of Etsy find Fridays is dedicated to jewelry bearing my new obsession! Sit back and try not to get drool all over keyboard. Or is that just me . . . ?

Etsy finds: Let’s get royal with it

I know everyone must be sick to death of hearing about my dumb ol’ trip to London already, but let me tell you — in Meg’s world, this is still the big news! And you only have to suffer through two more weeks before I’m there already, and then read the massive blog entry that will surely follow with all my crazy photos and hilarious commentary.

Hopefully.

But before we can get to the wrap-up, we have to continue living with the anticipation! And since I’m in full-blown planning mode and spending quite a bit of time thinking about King Henry VIII and all the very royal history of my beloved city, I’m presenting my favorite regal pieces this week! And who hasn’t dream of being a prince or princess at some point — especially on laundry day? Yeah, it would be pretty sweet to have a handmaiden to take care of all those pesky tasks. I’ll keep dreaming. And as always, check out Etsy for all sorts of fun!
