And that final shot? The top of the famous stairs from “The Exorcist”!

That is so cool! I was showing the pictures to my son. We would love nothing more than for him to go to school there 🙂

Awesome, Sandy! Georgetown University is beautiful. We walked around campus on our walk, too, and admired the old architecture. Definitely lots to see.

Thanks! That’s the path along the Old Stone House. Very cool spot to hang and think. A photo shoot was happening in the neighboring garden — probably a couple having engagement shots taken. It’s easy to see why!

Yeah, I can definitely see a lot of engagement/wedding photos getting taken there. It reminds me of a couple of similar places in Glasgow (where I live). Slightly better photography than I could manage though 😛

I love Georgetown any time of the year? Do those barges still run? We had a great time when we rode on one.

Looks like the barges run along other portions of the C&O Canal, Kathy, but not in Georgetown. I haven’t seen any running myself . . . not sure if they ever bring them out for special occasions, but there are some docked — like that one we found!

Thank you, Gayle! Definitely a fun place to spend a morning/afternoon, especially if you duck into one of the coffee shops or restaurants for lunch. 🙂

Thanks so much! We were happy to find that boat — I wasn’t sure if it was still there.

Georgetown has canals? We were just there last weekend…who knew?

It does! Preserved remnants of the old Chesapeake & Ohio Canal system. The footpaths along the canals are now very popular with joggers, bicyclists and tourists. We were in the way of the first two on our walk, but the paths are for everyone. 🙂

I’m in Georgetown all the time, and I still don’t know where those The Exorcist steps are! Where do I need to look?

Funny how that can happen! They’re directly across from Key Bridge on 36th Street — right next to an Exxon gas station. In fact, you walk through the gas station parking lot to get there. Here is a map with their location!

Gorgeous photos! I love seeing all the green still kicking around in Fall. We are getting very orange / red / yellow up in MA this time of year, and I’m already missing the lush green!
