So here I am, standing on the precipice of a fresh, shiny new blog. I feel like I should say something truly monumentous! But I guess I’ll keep it simple (for now, at least).

My world is surrounded by words. I’m a 22-year-old editor living in Maryland and working for a local newspaper. When I’m not mercilessly chopping up press releases, laying out pages and generally being the writing and editing goddess that I am, I work for a bookstore selling summer reads and magazines to the masses. In my “spare time,” I write my own novels.

I’m ready to start writing about all of the adventures — and misadventures — of being a writer and editor who currently makes a living off of the words of others, but ultimately wants to get paid for writing her own. And I’m sure I’ll have a healthy dash of working-retail-angst in there — just for good measure.
