I also loved this book and sing its praises as often as I can. I found it similar in tone and subject (a bright girl coming of age in England) very similar to I Capture the Castle, which I love equally and recommend to those who loved this book.

Eva Rice's next book, Dragonfly Summer, was set to be released in 2008, I believe, but its release date was pushed back and the book doesn't appear to be coming out anytime soon, which is unfortunate. I also can't find anything online that explains why!

The cover is adorable, Brittany -- that's what really drew me to the book in the first place!

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I thought it was absolutely fantastic -- a coming-of-age story. But I said all that in my review already.

Wonderful to see someone else who loved this book. Since you said you loved the 1950's, do you perhaps have any recommendations for other books set in the 1950's, preferably also set in Britain? I'm on the lookout. :)
